Poltava Medical & Dental University has a good team of long term experienced lecturers in providing quality education to the students.
Poltava Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy trains specialists in six faculties and a preparatory department. Poltava Ukrainian National Medical & Dental University trains specialists along the following education / qualification levels: Junior specialists, specialists, Masters for the following specialties:

General Medicine ( duration of study is 6 years)
Pediatrics ( duration of study is 6 years)
Stomatology (Dentistry) ( duration of study is 5 years)
Medical Nursing ( duration of study is 2 years)
Orthopedic Stomatology ( duration of study is 2 years)

The forms of studies are full-time and part-time (evening form of studies).

At the present at Poltava State Medical & Dental University, there are 3500 students studying today , including 729 international students from 39 different countries. There are General Medicine,Pediatrics,Pharmacy and Stomatological (Dentistry) Faculties, the Preparatory Faculty for international students training, the Postgraduate Faculty and the preparatory training course Department. A medical college, training bachelors and junior specialists, has been founded based on the Poltava Medical & Dental University.

56 chairs,including 9 leading ones,function at the Poltava Medical & Dental University.Clinical and consulting work is carried out at 35 clinical chairs of the Poltava Medical Dental University,located at the best regional and city medical establishments of Polatva.
Educational Process
This function Dental, Medical Faculty, Department of foreign nationals and the Faculty of Postgraduate education department faculty training. Based UMSA established college that prepares bachelors and junior specialists.
In the structure of the Academy has 56 departments, nine of them - supporting. Treatment and consultation work carried out on 35 clinical departments of the Academy, located in the best of regional and municipal hospitals Poltava. The
Academy trains specialists by specialty:
1. Dentistry (8.110106, training period 5 years)
2. Medicine (8.110101, training period of 6 years)
3. Pediatrics (7.110104, training period of 6 years)
4. NURSING (5.110102) 2 year training period on the basis of complete general secondary education
5. Orthopedic Dentistry (5.110109) 2 year training period on the basis of complete general secondary education
6. Pharmacia (5.110201)
Mode of study at the academy day and part-day training (evening studies).

The scientific potential
Scientific potential UMSA - 82 doctors, 316 PhDs, 75 professors, 174 associate professors, 2 State Prize of Ukraine, 8 Honoured Scientist of Ukraine, 6 Honoured Physicians of Ukraine.
From 1999 to 2009, the Academy published over 710 teaching aids of various scientific subjects. Only last year received 106 patents of Ukraine and Russia. C formed and operate seven academic schools: operative surgery and topographic anatomy; Physiology; dental surgery; Biological Chemistry; pathological anatomy; therapeutic dentistry; Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology.

Education Foreigners
In order to improve the quality of medical training for the number of foreign students at the academy in 1992, the Department for Foreign Students. Today, the Academy enrolled 938 foreigners from 42 countries (Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, Pakistan, Libya, Russia, Turkmenistan, and others.). They guaranteed all the rights and freedoms stipulated by the current legislation of Ukraine. Training of foreign citizens is carried out in accordance with the curriculum and programs of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health of Ukraine. International students on an equal footing with students - citizens of Ukraine are in classrooms, reading rooms and libraries, sports facilities, they also allocated space for cultural, religious events and meeting local associations. Courses provide teachers with specialized training and extensive experience with foreign nationals in the early stages of their training. After graduation, international students receive diplomas of international standard.
In 1997, as part of the Dean's office was established in the preparatory department for foreign citizens. Students of the Preparatory Department study Russian scientific style of speech, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, geography. In general, the preparatory department aims at adapting foreign nationals to live and study in Ukraine and familiarity with the culture and traditions of the Ukrainian people. A growing trend is further postgraduate training academy graduates in residency and graduate school. Currently, the various departments of residency improve their skills 32 foreigners - graduates of dental and medical faculties. More and more foreigners who have completed residency, expressed a desire to continue their education in graduate school.The scientific potential of the Poltava Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy is represented by 82 Doctors of Medical Science, 316 Candidates of Science, 75 Professors, 174 assistant professors, 2 winners of the Ukrainian State Prize, 8 Honoured Science and Technology workers of Ukraine, 6 Honoured Physicians of Ukraine.
